Encouraging results in tourist arrivals in Jamaica

One million tourists arrived in Jamaica during the first nine weeks of 2019, which generated revenues of about $800 million.

Edmund Bartlett, tourism minister, stressed that fact allowed the country to be the first tourist destination in the Caribbean to reach that figure in the current year in such a short period of time.

Un millón de turistas arribaron a Jamaica durante las nueve primeras semanas de 2019, con lo cual esa isla caribeña recibió ingresos por unos 800 millones de dólares.

Edmund Bartlett. titular de turismo, destacó que ese hecho permitió al país ser el primer destino turístico del Caribe en alcanzar esa cifra en el actual año en tan corto tiempo.

France commits itself to opening hotels in Colombian Caribbean

Four projects, including an Ibis Budget in Bogota and a luxury hotel in the Colombian Caribbean under the Sofitel brand, have been signed by the French hotel company Accor in Colombia.

This French company seeks to grow through strategic alliances in the main cities of midscale and luxury hotels, mainly through investors.

There are currently 17 hotels in operation in Colombia and 9 in development plan, and 56% of the contracts signed in 2018 are with Ibero-American nations where Accor has operations.

Dominican Republic Hotels Awarded with Top Hotel Partner 2018

Several hotels in Bahia Principe, Dominican Republic, were recognized by German tour operator Schauinsland Reisen with the annual Top Hotel Partner 2018 awards. 

Based on customer feedback, the German tour operator values the integrity, flexibility and loyalty of the tourist facilities, as well as certifying their high competitiveness.

The winning Dominican hotels are Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro, Grand Bahia Principe El Portillo in Las Terrenas, Samana and Grand Bahia Principe La Romana.

Francia apuesta por apertura hoteles en Caribe colombiano

Un total de cuatro proyectos, entre los que figuran un Ibis Budget en Bogotá, y un hotel de lujo en el Caribe colombiano con la marca Sofitel, ha firmado la hotelera francesa Accor  en Colombia.

Esa empresa gala pretende crecer a través de alianzas estratégicas  en las principales ciudades de los hoteles midscale y de lujo, principalmente a través de inversores.

Mexico Reports Increased Spending by International Tourists

The average spending of international tourists in Mexico increased significantly in January, when it reported 1,014.9 dollars, 19.3 percent more than in the same period last year, according to figures cited by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).

He points out that 7,923,897 visitors arrived to the Aztec nation in that month, of which 3,482,519 were international tourists (43.9%), with a positive variation of 4.3% compared to January 2018.

Excelencias Group made a donation to Havana for the tornado's recovery

Jose Carlos de Santiago, president of the Excelencias Group, gave a donation to the vice-president of the Provincial Government of Havana, Tatiana Viera, to help compensate for the damage caused by the tornado that affected municipalities in this capital last January.

On behalf of the company he runs, De Santiago gave the contribution and expressed his interest "that the government continue to trust and seek the modest and humble support of our group for any endeavor that Havana needs.
