Costa Rica presenta en la Feria IBTM World en Barcelona, especializada en la industria de reuniones, sus potencialidades como destino MICE, ya que cuenta con excelente conectividad aérea, ubicación estratégica y servicios de alto nivel.

Juan Carlos Borbón, director de mercadeo del Instituto Costarricense de Turismo (ICT), dijo que ese segmento representa un dinamizador de la economía,y estar presenteen esta edición de la IBTM constituye una valiosa oportunidad para mostrarlo.

Los hoteles cubanos Meliá Buenavista y Paradisus Río de Oro fueron reconocidos con el Premio a la Excelencia Condé Nast Johansens 2019, por la región de Canadá, Estados Unidos, México y el Caribe.

Meliá Buenavista, situado en cayo Santa María, alcanzó la categoría de Mejor hotel para bodas, fiestas u ocasiones especiales.

Cuenta con 105 habitaciones, tiene categoría The Level que integra alojamiento de confort superior y sofisticadas distinciones.

Cancun has the first place in the world in percentage participation of the Tourism GDP, and in the generation of jobs in the leisure industry, according to a research of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

This agency, headed by the Mexican Gloria Guevara, reported that 49.6% of GDP of the Mexican Caribbean tourist pole comes from tourism, and in turn 37.7% of jobs registered in 2017 are in that sector, with about 148,300 in Quintana Roo.

Airlines announced that it will change its weekly direct service from the city of Panama, currently carried out on Tuesdays and Fridays, to Wednesdays and Saturdays.

La alianza de la aerolínea Copa Airlines y Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI), tras su lanzamiento en  julio último, permite una alta demanda y crecimiento en la región tanto para viajeros de placer, como de negocios, sobre todo provenientes de países latinoamericanos.

A partir de oferta y demanda, desde el 5 de diciembre próximo Copa Airlines anunció que cambiará su servicio directo semanal desde la ciudad de Panamá, actualmente llevado a cabo los martes y viernes, a miércoles y sábados.

A summit against antisocial and drunken tourism will take place early in 2019 in Palma de Mallorca, aimed at debating and designing strategies to control this type of tourist with negative behaviour.

The meeting is scheduled to take place after the Madrid Tourism Fair (Fitur-2019), which will be held from January 23 to 27.

Palma de Mallorca, along with Ibiza are among the most affected by such visitors, who play the leading role in acts that denigrate tourist destinations.

Una cumbre contra el turismo incívico y de borrachera tendrá lugar a principios de 2019 en Palma de Mallorca, con el fin de debatir y diseñar estrategias para controlar a ese tipo de turista con conductas negativas.

Se prevé que la reunión se celebre luego de la Feria de Turismo de Madrid (Fitur-2019),  que será del 23 al 27 de enero.

Palma de Mallorca, junto a Ibiza figuran entre las más afectadas por ese tipo de visitantes, quienes son protagonistas de actos que denigran los destinos turísticos.

The Dominican Republic registered a total of 5,424,399 tourists in the January-October period, for an increase of 317,247 additional tourists with respect to the same period of the previous year.

According to data announced by the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD), it is equivalent to a 6.2 percent growth and in that result non-resident foreigners had an annual growth of 5.0% (221,529 additional travelers).
