Biografía: 
Matanzas, 1912 This Cuban writer got his degree in Philosophy and Letters in the University. He founded and directed the Poeta magazine. He worked as official of the Cuban embassy in Argentina, as tests corrector and he later worked as translator of the Argos Editorial. He travelled through Latin America, United States and Europe. He was collaborator in Espuela de Plata, Grafos, Clavileño, Ultra, Origenes, Gaceta del Caribe, Lyceum, Universidad de Havana, Lunes de Revolucion, La Gaceta de Cuba and Union. In Buenos Aires he collaborated in the publications Sur, Hoy, Realidad, Mundo Argentino and Anales de Buenos Aires. He also collaborated in Lettres Nouvelles and Les Temps Modernes, of Paris. Along with Jose Rodriguez Feo he founded Ciclon in 1955. He was the director of Ediciones R (1960-1964). He obtained the theater prize of the Casa de las Americas Contest in 1968 for his work Dos viejos panicos. He is the author of the selection and the notes of Teatro del absurdo, anthology where the works of important writers are gathered. He worked in the translationof Ferdydurke, by Witold Gombrowicz. Some of his stories and his poems have been translated into English, Italian, German, Russian, Hungarian, Polish and other languages. His work Cuentos frios was translated to the French. He died on October, 18th 1979.
