Matanzas, 1916 This actress began as amateur in the King`s Union, Matanzas. Upon moving to Havana, she carried out different works until she worked as secretary in the Hoy newspaper. She began playing small roles in Cadena Roja and in the theater hall Las Mascaras until she worked in the television, where she started with a role of peasant. In 1942, she joined the Teatro Popular, formed and directed by Paco Alfonso. She worked for the radio and the television in 1953. Her peasant characters, Simplicia and Valeria, will be always remembered by all of us. In 1982, after 25 years of absence, she came back to the theater in order to play the role of Amparo in Una Casa Colonial, by Nicolas Dorr. She worked for many years in the Radio Progreso radio station where she combined dramatic and humorous roles. She died in Havana in 1993.
