Ackee and Codfish

A popular dish that mingles codfish and ackee (a vegetable introduced in Jamaica by Captain Blith del Bounty).


Banana salad
Four helpings:4 bananas1 fresh lettuce 1 dl of milk cream2.5 dl of mayonnaisea pinch of black pepper
Carefully cleanse the lettuce leaves. Pluck them and put them on a tray shaping a cradle. Peel the bananas, slice them in rinks and put them atop the lettuce cradle. Mix gently the mayonnaise with the milk cream. Add a pinch of black pepper and pour on the salad.

Pepper soup

The island nation’s most popular soup. It’s a combination of cured pork meat, okra and callalao (a Jamaican vegetable).
