Anguilla has a nearly non-existent crime rate and there is no poverty on the island.
The Dominican Republic reached the figure of 9,000 tourists who arrived in that nation on Monday and last Tuesday by the Amber Cove Port, aboard the cruise ship Carnival Breeze, from Port Canaveral, and the Carnival Magic that arrived from Miami.
On the first day of this week more than 4,600 cruise passengers arrived, while on Tuesday about 4,400 arrived, according to the Dominican Port Authority (Apordom).
This Caribbean nation has the purpose of strengthening its port roads and work has already begun on structural studies and soil mechanics for the construction of the multipurpose port of Puerto Plata.
Engineer Cesar Salinas, CEO of Puerto Plata Port Investments, said that in the construction of the port about 1,500 people will work, mainly Dominicans, while a team of specialists from Mexico has overall responsibility for the design and structural studies to meet the requirements.
He noted that so far the project has received impressive support from all authorities and the population in order to make its implementation feasible.
