Prince of Wales begins visit to Caribbean countries

The Prince of Wales and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, began a 10-day visit to Caribbean countries on the island of Saint Lucia and will also cover Barbados, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Grenada, Cuba and Cayman Islands.

According to a note from the official residence of Their Royal Highnesses in London, in their Twitter account, Carlos and Camila arrived this Sunday in St. Lucia, the first country of a tour that includes Cuba, to which they will arrive on March 24, in what constitutes the first visit of a member of the British royalty.

They will stay in the Greater Antilles for three days and have scheduled meetings with local authorities, as well as visits to community and art centers.

The Royal House reported that in Cuba they will be aware of aspects of the application of renewable energy and organic agriculture, will hold meetings with young entrepreneurs and members of a British classic car club.

Prince Carlos and his wife will include in their program a tour of a province on Cuba's southern coast to know more about local flora and fauna, environmental conservation and care for victims of domestic violence, before going on March 27 to the Cayman Islands, the last stage of the tour.
