The Plaza Marinera Project in Puerto La Libertad, an icon of the Coastal-Marine Development Program in El Salvador, is well underway.
This US$ 5.56 million project aims to increase tourism development in the area and will have nautical facilities for 110 boats and a promenade with 20 restaurants, shops, services and ATMs.
It will also have 11 craft shops, general warehouses, warehouses for fishing cooperatives, a space for repairing boats and an area for repairing fishing nets.
Mitur said that with this infrastructure, whose construction was planned for a year, will strengthen the installed capacity of the Puerto de La Libertad, which is visited by more than one million national and international tourists per year.
The Plaza Marinera Project will benefit about 1,800 people, of which 300 are direct employees of the tourist complex and handicraft pier, including 7 cooperatives.
