A 17th century, travelers described Anguilla as a "nest of pirates and smugglers and outlaws, dangerous to every neighboring island and a disgrace to the British name." Today, it could hardly be more different.
The Dominican Republic has an outstanding participation as main sponsor country of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2019), which will conclude at its Ifema headquarters in Madrid this Sunday, January 27.
The event welcomes 886 exhibitors, 8.3% more than last year, with 10,487 companies from 165 countries.
The fact that Dominicana is listed as a sponsor significantly supports multiple promotion and branding initiatives with wide visibility, both in the Spanish and international fields.
The implementation of this initiative is in its fourth year and according to statements to the press by Ana Larrañaga, director of the International Tourism Fair, the experience has been greatly satisfactory.
As a FITUR Partner, Dominicana publicizes in the event its extraordinary diversity of attractions as a Destination, with charming beaches, practice of adventure sports, golf, nature tourism and a hotel plant with great comfort, as well as a varied gastronomy.
It also shows a compendium of tourist products difficult to match, according to Karyna Font-Bernard, director of the Dominican Republic Tourism Office for Spain and Portugal, at the official presentation of FITUR 2019.
In 2018, the Dominican Republic grew 6.2% in the reception of vacationers compared to 2017, according to statistics from the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR).
