Biografía:
Cordisburgo, 1908 João Guimarães Rosa was an import poet, narrator, doctor and Brazilian diplomat. A versatile and prolific humanist, skillful in the conciliation of his scientific concerns, his literary uneasiness and the public service he made for his homeland. He left a brilliant legacy in which he distinguished himself by the experimental boldness in the splendid novel named“Grande sertão: Veredas” (1956), bewildering exercise of the linguistic creation and generic innovation in which the predetermined elimination of frontiers between the lyric and narrative speeches provokes a harmonious lexical symphony governed by the melodic whim of the language. João Guimarães Rosa died in Rio de Janeiro in 1967.
