Bahia, 1832 Luis Jose Junqueira Freire joined the Order of the Benedicts at the early age of 19. He was defrocked in 1854 and returned to his hometown. His mind was boggled with existential doubts he apparently never managed to work out. He spent the last years of his life in Bahia and died of a heart attack in 1855. His best work was "Poesies completas"
