San Salvador de Bahia, 1945 Gal Costa is considered one of the most popular singers in Brazil, Spain and all of Latin America. Though she usually sings in Portuguese, her albums sold in her homeland and abroad feature some tunes in Spanish. A great music aficionado since an early age, Caetano Veloso introduced her in the realm of record labels with her first LP entitled "Sunday". Her first-ever smash hit was "Baby Gal" in 1983. She's also edited "Gal Tropical", "Profana", "Bem Bom" and other CDs that have put her among the best-selling Brazilian singers of all time.
