Havana, 1923 The first artistic expression he liked was the painting, so he entered the annexed school San Alejandro in a night course. In 1944 he made his first performance in the radio station La voz de los Omnibus Aliados. He has worked in all the radio stations of Havana. His debut in the television was in 1952, and in that same year, he received the prize to the best actor. During his career onTV he has played hundreds of characters, such as the peasant Melesio, which gave him popularity. His performance quality has allowed him to play humorous as well as dramatic characters. He has also acted in several theater plays, though it was in the Cuban classic, Santa Camila de Havana Vieja, where he achieved his greatest success. He is one of the founders of the Cuban movies, his favorite, and where he has played important roles such as Cheito Leon in El hombre de Maisinicu. He currently lives in the United States.
