Havana, 1941 He is a movie director, writer and dramatist. Before he entered the ICAIC in 1971 his work as narrator was already known. In 1966 he received the Casa de las Americas prize for his book Los años duros, which initiated a new stage in the narrative of the Cuban Revolution. With the work Unos hombres y otros he obtained the First Mention in the 6th Festival of the Latin American Theater. Most of his literary work has been translated into different languages and published in several countries. He was a founder and director of Caiman Barbudo and he was part of the direction council of Critic Thought. In the ICAIC he began to contribute in several scripts.
