Violeta de Chamorro was the first woman chosen as president in a Central America country.
This outstanding building from the 18 Century is part of the colonial collection that surrounds the Bolivar Square. It keeps its original design when was built for the Spanish Inquisition, to be used as an office, a court, a torture room and a prison. A century later it became a cultural center and the main office of the Colonial Museum.
