Off Abacos and Eleuthera, divers can see the wrecks of two trains, which sank while being transported by ships.
The Mount Scenery Volcano is north of Windwardside right on the mountain bearing the same name. This 2,864-footer is penciled in as the Netherlands Antilles’ highest peak above sea level (more than 950 feet high, with a grand total of 1,064 steps for those interested in trekking). The volcano’s last registered eruption occurred in 1636 and since then there’s solidified lava in its crater.
