The first European settlers on St Lucia arrived in 1605 - they were 67 Englishmen who were forced to land there after missing their way to Guyana.
Its construction started in 1751 and was finished in 1775 with some peculiar elements making it one of the most architecturally interesting works of Cuba in the 18th Century. Restaurant “El Patio” now sits within its own facilities.
