Barbados is where rum was first distilled.
It is the oldest stone construction of Santo Domingo (1509). This house like the Alcázar was inhabited by Diego Colón, while he built his definitive dwelling. It was named after the cord of Franciscan Order, carved on the façade. At present, this is the headquarters of the Popular Bank.
