The Barcelo Maya Riviera hotel, considered one of the best resorts in this tourist enclave, will be open next December to become the sixth that the Barcelo Hotel Group has in this Mexican area.
It will be the only adults of the complex that will have 850 rooms with hydro-massage bathtub on the terrace, 60% of which will allow the visualization of the Caribbean beaches, and whose construction generated an investment of $250 million dollars.
The Spanish chain was one of the first Hispanics to open such facilities in the Riviera Maya, and during the two decades since the inauguration of its first hotel there, the area has done nothing but improve.
The purpose of Barcelo Hotel Group is to increase its offer in Mexico to 23 hotels and 9,006 rooms, a figure that positions us as the third hotel chain in that country, according to Miguel Angel Guardado, general director of Barcelo Hotel Group in the Aztec nation.
He added that the incorporation of the latter hotel will further boost the segment of weddings and, above all, groups, which currently generates 17% of total revenue of the complex.
The housing fund growth plan foresees the inauguration in May 2020 of the Barcelo Arena which, with more than 21,000 square meters and a capacity for 8,000 people, is destined to become the largest and most modern convention center in the region.
