Tourist authorities from Cuba and the Turkish Airlines airline signed a memorandum of understanding at the National Hotel in Havana to increase flights from that nation to the Caribbean island.
Bárbara Cruz, General Director of Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba (MINTUR), and Turkish Airlines Vice President of Sales for the Americas, Mustafá Dogan signed the agreement.
Cruz acknowledged that the document allows to narrow the links in the field of tourism and to promote actions of mutual benefit for both nations.
He added that the air connectivity made possible by Turkish Airlines has a very positive impact on the movement of passengers from Turkey, and from other countries to Cuba, with broad growth prospects.
Mustafa Dogan, Vice President of Sales for the Americas of the Turkish Airlines (Turkish Airlines), highlighted that Cuba will be promoted in many countries, as approximately 46 million tourists arrive annually in Turkey.
When concluding, Ambassador Berris Ekinci reaffirmed her country’s support for expanding trade and investment with Cuba.
Salih Ahzem, director of Turkish Airlines on the island, and Rosa Nieves, commercial director of the Cuban Aviation Corporation (CACSA) also attended the signing of the memorandum.
