Mexico Aspires to Have Greater Economic Revenue This Summer

In the next vacation period Mexico expects an economic revenue of 3,760 million dollars for the arrival of foreign tourists, for an increase of 15.5 percent compared to the stage of July and August of the previous year.

The tourism holder, Miguel Torruco Marqués, reported that according to projections the total number of travelers staying in hotels during the summer period will be 15 million 969 thousand 723 people, 2.61 percent more than in 2018.

From the total, 3 million 836 thousand 499 will be international travelers and national tourists will grow 12 million 133 thousand 224, which means an increase in both emitters.

The places most visited by nationals are expected to be Mexico City, with 14.4 percent of visitors; Acapulco, 10 percent; Cancun, 5.47; Guadalajara, 5.3; Veracruz, 4.8; Puebla, 4.1 and Mazatlán, with 3.5 percent.

Meanwhile,  foreign tourists will have their main destination in Cancun, where 26.1 percent will arrive; followed by Riviera Maya, with 22.2; Mexico City, 9.2; Los Cabos, 7.4; Mazatlán, 5.2, and Guadalajara, with 2 percent.
