International Tourism Grows in First Nine Months of 2018

A significant growth registered international tourism throughout the world's regions in the first nine months of 2018, announced the World Tourism Organization (WTO).

Those results confirm growth predictions of the WTO for this year, which indicated between +4% and +5.

World Destinations received 1.083 million international arrivals until September, 56 million more than in the same period of 2017.

This figure were in keeping with important issuing markets, such as Asia, Pacific which headed the growth (+7%), followed by Europe and Middle East (+6% each), Africa (+5%) and Latin America (+3%).

The first nine months of the year usually represent three quarter of the total of annual international arrivals, as it includes the high season months of July and August of the North Hemisphere.

The United Kingdom increased its profits in 12 %, although the arrivals decreased if compared to 2017, while Australia grew 11%, France 8% and Italy 6%, both in keeping with the arrivals increase.

Meanwhile, income in United States, Spain and Germany registered 3% growth.

Asia showed very good income rates: China increased in 21 % and Macao (China) and Japan also had outstanding results by showing 20%  and 19%  growth, respectively
