By Caribbean Insider

With its special charm, Havana will celebrate the 16th of November 500 years since its foundation and strengthens the restoration and conservation program carried out by institutions and governmental organizations on the occasion of its anniversary.

Despite the traces of time, of economic difficulties faced by the island, the Cuban capital is among the most photographed cities in the world with a high world ranking, according to a list of Sightsmap website, a prestigious reference to publicize the most visited and photographed places.

The Cuban capital has that location behind Chicago and San Francisco, and something very significant is that it has more admirers willing to be photographed in some of the points of the locality than mega cities like Washington D.C. and Las Vegas, which were placed in the numbers 25 and 26.

In the first places appear New York, Rome and Barcelona, which surpass Paris, Istanbul or Venice that have the fourth to sixth places, in that order.

Monte Carlo, Florence, Buenos Aires and Budapest scored well in popularity among the cities up to the tenth place.

The arrival of tourists from all over the world, who take photographs with digital cameras, smart phones and upload them to social networks, has of course influenced the dissemination of the snapshots of Havana's Villa de San Cristobal.

The capital has 250 National Monument buildings and many are tourist facilities. But it is not only in this sphere that work is done, but also on the occasion of the 500th anniversary it is intended to achieve a certain level; that is why it is necessary to continue to do so, with the guarantee of quality and durability in the actions.
