The 1.8% growth in professional presence during the first three days of the fair, which registered 142,642 participants from all over the world, was outstanding. In the international chapter, the increase was 8.9%.

In its 39th edition, this event had a high presence from Latin America, for cultural, business, investment and alliance reasons, and it is worth highlighting how the increase in air connectivity between Spain and Latin America over the years has allowed the countries in the region to intensify their support for the fair.

An economic impact of 325 million euros, above the 250 million registered in 2017 could have the 39th edition of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2019), which took place in Ifema Madrid from January 23 to 27.

Organizers of the important event of the tourism industry expressed the certainty that it broke record, and emerged as one of the first three fairs in the world and also as a leader in the Latin American world.

The Dominican Republic had an outstanding participation as main sponsor country of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2019).

As a FITUR Partner, the Dominican Republic publicized in the event its extraordinary diversity of attractions as a Destination, with charming beaches, practice of adventure sports, golf, nature tourism and a hotel plant with great comfort, as well as a varied gastronomy.

During the Fair, were presented the Excelencias Awards created 14 years ago by the Excelencias Group with the aim of promoting the best in areas related to tourism, gastronomy and culture in Latin America.
