With the participation of more than 7500 professionals from the tourist industry, coming from 53 countries, the 39th International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2019 concluded in Havana.
The 40th Edition of the Fair will take place in 2020 in Varadero, the guest country of honor will be Russia, and it will be dedicated to the Sun and Beach Tourism modality.
Manuel Marrero, Minister of Tourism, said during the closure that FITCuba 2019 showed that Cuba is open to the world, for all who want to visit us, and the world is also open to Cuba.
Such assertion is supported by the number of attendees and the reaffirmation of all partners and businessmen to maintain and expand relations with the island.
Among the participants, Spain, the guest country of honor, followed by Mexico and Italy, said Marrero and added that "together we have managed to fulfill the great objective of letting the world know the latest firstfruits on Cuban tourist product."
Important contracts were concluded during the Fair, including the signing of two hotel management and marketing contracts between the Canadian company Blue Diamond and the Gran Caribe Group, for the administration of two new facilities to be built in Varadero and Cayo Coco, acknowledged the tourism titleholder.
Progress was also made in the negotiations of new joint venture projects for hotel development in Havana and a new mixed hotel in Trinidad.
In FITCuba 2019, an international Workshop on Foreign Administration was held with 19 foreign chains operating in Cuba, and a Forum of National and Spanish entrepreneurs.
