The International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2019), in its 39th edition in the Ifema pavilions in Madrid, holds festivals and spaces dedicated to topics such as health tourism, gay and film.
Clemente Gonzalez Soler, president of Ifema, said that this edition will be a record and will become the most international fair held so far, while assuring that "Fitur is consolidated as one of the first three fairs in the world and as a clear leader in the Latin American world.
The International Tourism Fair, held in Madrid until next Sunday, takes up an area of 67,495 square meters, 2.5% more than in 2017, distributed in nine pavilions.
Its organizers expect it will have an economic impact of 325 million euros, above the 250 million registered in 2017. The number of visitors will move around the 250,000 with which the last edition closed.
If in 2018 it was the technology fair, with the implementation of the 5G, this year sustainability will become quite important.
Among its most important novelties are the creation of the Fitur Next observatory, a three-year project aimed at identifying future trends in the tourism sector and projecting those guidelines that generate a positive impact both in the economic, cultural, social and environmental.
