Excelencias Awards stand out in the first day of Fitur 2019

The Excelencias Awards were bestowed at the 39th edition of the Fitur 2019 International Tourism Fair, which this year has the Dominican Republic as guest country, and welcomes 886 exhibitors, 8.3% more than last year, with 10,487 companies from 165 countries.

The event was inaugurated by the King and Queen of Spain, Mr. Felipe and Mrs. Leticia, and  in the afternoon, the awards ceremony took place in Pavilion 3 of the Madrid Fair (IFEMA) for projects from Spain, United States, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Colombia, Paraguay, Chile, El Salvador, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Cuba and Mexico.

The awards ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mr. Gustavo Santos, Minister of Tourism of the Argentine Nation; His Excellency Mr. Manuel Marrero Cruz, Minister of Tourism of Cuba; His Excellency Mr. Excellency Mr. Napoleón Duarte, Minister of Tourism of El Salvador; Her Excellency Mrs. Rosi Prado from Holguín, Minister of Tourism of Ecuador; Her Excellency Mrs. Sofía Montiel de Afara, Minister of Tourism of Paraguay; and His Excellency Mr. Miguel Torruco, Secretary of Tourism of Mexico.

There were also present Mr. Rafael Ansón Oliart, President of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy, and Mr. Alfonso Marín Caffarena, Secretary General of the Ibero-American Academy of Gastronomy, as well as representatives of Ibero-American governments and the tourism sector worldwide.

Created 14 years ago on the initiative of the Excelencias Group, chaired by José Carlos de Santiago, the EXCELENCIAS Awards aim to promote the best in areas related to tourism, gastronomy and culture in Latin America.

In this Wednesday's ceremony the Winners of the XIV edition of the Excelencias Awards were:
