Venezuelan city, capital of Falcón state and of Miranda municipality. Located at an altitude of 19 m, it enjoys a long cultural tradition. It was founded in 1527 as the city of Santa Ana de Coro. It was the first Venezuelan urban settlement that lasted. Its historical core was declared in 1993 Heritage of Mankind.
