Cuba attending the XXXIX International Tourism Fair of Spain

Cuba will attend the XXXIX International Tourism Fair (FITUR 2019), which will be held from January 23 to 27 at its usual headquarters in Madrid, the capital of Spain, according to a press release from the Tourism Ministry (Mintur).

The island's delegation will be led by the sector incumbent Manuel Marrero Cruz, and will include the presidents and commercial vice presidents of major hotel chains, travel agencies, as well as partners Melia Hotels, Iberostar, Blue Diamond, Muthus, Roc Hotels, Accor, NH, Barcelo, Valentin, Kempinski, among others.

The business groups Viajes Cuba and Cubasol will also participate, as well as Cuban Medical Services, Palco and Paradiso.

Caracol, will be represented by the twister José Castelar Cairo (Cueto), holder of several Guinness Records for making the world's longest cigars.

On the eve of FITUR, the XXII Ibero-American Conference of Ministers of Ibero-America and Spanish Tourism Entrepreneurs (CIMET) will be held, where Cuba will be represented by the sector's minister, according to the text.

In the present edition, the Greatest Antilles launches a new design for the participation of the Destination in international fairs, with a stand of 184.5 square meters, in Pavilion 3.

Cuban authorities announced that this year the International Tourism Fair of the Island (FITCUBA) will take place from May 6 to 11 in Havana, in the context of the 500th anniversary of the founding of this city.

It will be dedicated to the modality of events and incentives and will have Spain as a guest country, a nation that remains a major market for the sector and last year reached 167,970 visitors to the destination.

In 2019, work will continue to diversify the products that are currently being marketed.
