Costa Rica will host in 2020 the World Meeting of Tourism and Related Services, which is a privilege for the sector, for the topics that are discussed related to tourism development and its projections, was announced at the fourteenth plenary session in Tunis, capital of the Tunisia Republic in Africa....
According to the ISO organization, this event will be held in June 2020 with the attendance of about 25 countries that will discuss the improvement of tourism standards and services in the face of new challenges on the planet.
This designation represents a recognition of the work between the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism ICT and the Institute of Technical Standards of Costa Rica (INTECO). INTECO, which serves as Costa Rica's representative to ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and is a full member of the International Committee on Tourism and Related Services ISO TC 228.
Alberto Lopez, president of the National Mirror Committee and General Manager of the ICT, explained that the meeting addresses various issues such as the latest trends in sustainable tourism, adventure and welfare, where the Costa Rican nation has positioned its world's leadership in recent years.
He pointed out that other elements of tourist services are also analyzed, such as lodging, tour operation, protected areas, tourist guides, transportation, diving, among others.
Costa Rica's participation in these international forums contributes to the country's positioning as a model of sustainable tourism, by preserving 25% of its territory in conservation areas and national parks, it also has 5% of the planet's biodiversity.
