Rio de Janeiro, 1893 Brazilian poet and diplomat Ronald de Carvalho founded the Orfeu magazine, one of the avant-garde publications of the Brazilian arts and society in the early 20th century. Carvalho became famous as one of the spreaders of Brazilian contemporary culture abroad an for his participation in 1922 in the Week of Modern Art that took place in Sao Paolo. "Ironic and Sentimental Epigrams" and "All of America" are his premiere and most expressive books as far as modern poetry are concerned.
