Ramon Baez had his big break in the music business when he was 12 in Cuco Valoy's orchestra. Years later, he started working with Koqui Acosta. He then joined Jerry Vargas' band only to land in the Rosario Bros. Orchestra. He traveled to New York and worked for a couple of years with The Big Apple. He moved down to Miami and played for several local groups, including La Gran Union. Some time later he put together his own band dubbed La Fiera. Under this nickname and Producciones record label, he put out his first album in August 1995, mixing merengue and bachata with other music genres.
