This actor interrupted his Medicine career in order to dedicate his time to the performance. His artistic career began in the radio and he later joined the groups Teatro Universitario and Teatro Estudio, where he adquired his basic education as actor. He is founder and director of the Buscon group and he has become into one of the most prestigious Cuban actors. He has been actor or director several theater plays such as Otelo and Quien le teme a Virginia Wolf. His character Rigoletto in the soap opera Las Impuras by Miguel de Carrion, was a memorable performance. His debut in the movies was in 1962 with the film Cuba 58.
