An efficient promotion of the tourist destination together with better air connectivity allows Barbados to have Latin America as a growing market for travelers.
Such results show how in recent years this Caribbean island has managed to have Panama, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Ecuador as its main issuing markets, according to Corey Garrett. Director of BTMI for the Caribbean & Latin America.
Corey highlighted that: "After a great effort we have achieved that 10000 Latinos visit us thanks to the fact that we have invested a lot in promoting the destination and in addition we have improved the connectivity through an agreement reached with Copa Airlines, the airline guarantees us excellent connectivity with all Latin American and Caribbean countries".
He noted that Barbados is a destination that is always active, regardless of the month, as they have the best climate and offer all types of accommodation according to the budget of each visitor.
The executive said that by 2020 they expect to reach 50000 Latino visitors and will try to reach 100000 by 2021. To that end they will establish agreements with new airlines for faster and more direct travel, because for now the best choice is to arrive via Panama or Miami.
