2012 62nd Ernest Hemingway International Tournament of Marlin Fishing, Cuba

The 62nd International Tournament of Marlin Fishing is to be carried out in Havana city, paying tribute to the North American writer Ernest Hemingway, this friend of Cuba, of water sports, Literature Nobel prize and author of The old man and the sea, which describes the natural sceneries of the sea to the north of the Antillean island crossed by his mythical Pilar yacht. The event coincides with the 20th anniversary of the foundation of Hemingway International Nautical Club, giving new life to Hemingway tournaments. The promotion of this event is based on the relationship with fishing clubs, specialized publications and fishermen, thus encouraging the participation of those who love and defend sport fishing as healthy hobby and a way of protecting the environment and species. Hemingway Tournament is one of the oldest in the world, just preceded by the Tuna World Cup in Nova Scotia and the Shad Tournament in Mexico.
