Located in the southwest of the Province of Santa Cruz, in the heart of Patagonia, it is one of the most recognized Argentinean destinations by the international travel community. From Buenos Aires it is only a two and a half hour flight.

At 80 kilometers from the center of Calafate, there is the great attraction that attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world: Los Glaciares National Park. Once there, the famous Perito Moreno Glacier appears imposing, an icon of Argentine tourism, which has the privilege of being the most accessible, as it can be seen through a modern system of walkways. In addition, it allows the possibility of walking on it in one of the most incredible experiences of the Park.

But not everything is Perito Moreno. Through a navigation on Lake Argentino you can see other wonderful glaciers, such as Spegazzini or Upsala. Once on the boat, besides taking pictures, contemplating nature at its best and feeling the immensity, you can enjoy an exquisite drink with authentic Patagonian ice. What a delight!

The city of El Calafate also presents very good options such as a walk along the waterfront contemplating the Bahía Redonda, which in winter becomes a spectacular skating rink. The Nimez Lagoon -ideal for bird watching-, the Libertador Avenue -main artery of the city, to go shopping or to eat an exquisite Patagonian lamb- and the spectacular ascent in 4x4 to the Huyliche Hill are other of the many options to do.

And among endless possibilities, El Calafate is usually the ideal base to visit El Chaltén, a neighboring town a few more than two hours away, and known for being the National Capital of Trekking. Thousands of tourists of all nationalities arrive there to make different circuits, such as the one that leads to Laguna Capri or Laguna de los Tres, and enjoy the Cerro Fitz Roy.

Have you ever imagined dancing to the rhythm of the ice and drinking a typical fernet? In El Calafate everything is possible thanks to its ice bars. This experience, ideal for families and friends, simulates living, at least for a moment, inside the incredible universe of the famous glaciers.

It is worth visiting this tourist destination, considered one of the most spectacular in the Argentine Patagonia and around the world to hallucinate before its natural formations and enjoy them intensely.
