Santa Maria Cay, in the central-northern region of Cuba, is an excellent proposal for tourism on this Caribbean island and one of the most outstanding recreational points, with many repeat travelers, especially Europeans.
This paradisiacal destination stands out for the conservation of the environment and a hotel and service structure that surprises the most demanding, in the perfect combination of landscape and comfort, as well as a high level of recreational boating.
Santa Maria Cay, with its islets of white sand and extremely clean waters, shares this characteristic with other no less famous keys around it, such as Ensenachos and Las Brujas, suggestive names capable of attracting the most skeptical.
To reach the place, the ideal way is through a road over the waters known by the Cubans as causeway, of 48 kilometers, which starts in the town of Caibarién, in the north of the central province of Villa Clara.
Santa MaríaCay, Ensenachos and Las Brujas are the only three Cuban islands linked by roads, a construction work highlighted by the Ibero-American Prize Puente de Alcántara due to its respect for the environment and its long journey from the Bay of Buenavista, a Biosphere Reserve.
Among the attractions of this destination is not only the enjoyment offered by the sun and the beach, but also diving, snorkeling, yachting and other excursions, which add up to a total of more than 30 different recreational options.
These three cays, with Santa Maria as their axis and more demanded by foreign visitors, have more than two thousand rooms in five hotels, with architecture very much in line with the environment.
Very attractive for the tourist is the proposal of a marina with catamarans and various types of boats, from which you can go on excursions, contemplative diving and fishing every day.
