Biografía:
Havana, 1897 This painter was a distinguished student of the San Alejandro Academy. He is the first of the artists of his generation who set with his work an atmosphere of renovation, that`s why he is considered the initiator of the Cuban Movement of Avant-garde. His works include almost all the creative genres: landscape, still life and the portrait. He also used different techniques such as crayons, sanguinas, temperas and watercolour even oil painting. With each one, he left the mark of a teacher and the testimony of an undeniably defining and unrepeatable style inhis work. He died in 1969.
