Discovery and colonization of Grenada

1498-1795It was discovered by Christopher Columbus, who called it Concepción. In 1650, the French ruler of Martinique starts colonization of the island and it’s eventually inserted as a French colony in 1674, only to be given away to the British in 1762. The British were bound to crack down on rioting natives back in 1795.
