Venezuela

The father of Venezuelan music was Pedro Sojo, who in 1770 founded in the Village of Chacao a Music Academy, the management of which was trusted to the remarkable composer Juan Manuel Olivares. It formed numerous musicians that are characterized by a style that resembles that of European harpsichordists. Notably, among the most recent musicians are Andrés Sandoval (1924) and Inocente Carreño (1919). The Venezuelan musical ensemble “Un Solo Pueblo” was designated in 1996 by the Congress of the Republic of Venezuela, as a Cultural Heritage for its remarkable cultural contribution and work.
