Honduras

As to the literary development of Honduras, great writers underscore the poetry, writing, short stories, novels, essays and journalism. Some names worth mentioning are Jose Cecilio del Valle, a man of universal culture; Jose Trinidad Reyes, a writer who cultivated shepherds’ narrations and short stories about Christmas and the countryside; historian and journalist Rafael Heliodoro Valle, and novelist Froylan Turcios. Among contemporary writers and novelists, the names of Oscar Acosta, Marco Carias and Julio Escoto, the unforgettable Ramon Amaya Amador, the latter an excellent writer and journalist, have etched out a slot in history.
