There are no high mountains since most of its peaks –like Crocus Mount- aren’t any taller than 65 meters high. Limy and coral formations covered by a rare vegetation and white sandy beaches are the name of the game. Its shortened coastline makes room for plenty of gullies and coves. The island sports a tropical climate with mean temps hovering 27 degrees and 900mm of rainfall every year especially from September to January. The island has occasionally been hit by hurricanes.
The 5-square-kilometer Sombrero Island belongs to the Windward Islands in the Lesser Antilles.
One of the island’s main features is its salty-water lakes separated from the sea by coastline conduits.
The island nation lacks jungles and possesses no rivers because of its dry limestone soil with just a thin fertile layer. On the contrary, the coral reefs surrounding the island are worth scouring.
