In recent years, a greater activity in the promotion of the fine arts has taken place, thanks in part to the effort poured in by private and public institutions alike that now organize contests and exhibits. Currently, Honduran painting stands for one of the richest potential areas in the country’s artistic development.Sculpture is the greatest passion of all for Obed Valladares, as well as for Mario Zamora, Jesus Zelaya and Julio Navarro, men who have shaped bronze, wood, ceramic and metals into all forms. The founder of Honduran ceramics was Jose Arturo Machado, whose works of art are well-known both in his country and abroad.
