Caracas

Caracas, Venezuela’s capital and main city, seat of the Federal District’s municipality of Libertador. Because of its uneven orography, the city’s altitude ranges between 870 m and 1,043 m, with 900 m in its historical core. It is sited in the Caracas valley, crossed by the Guaire river, in the Central Coast’s mountain range. Linked by freeways and highways to the whole country, it also has the La Carlota national airport and, in its vicinity, the Maiquetía international airport and the La Guaira sea port.
