This province abuts northward with Matanzas and Villa Clara provinces, to the east with Villa Clara and Santi Spiritus provinces, southward with the Caribbean Sea, and to the west with Matanzas. Surface: 4.178 km2. Population: (1989) an estimated 358.589 inhabitants.
