Cuba’s capital located on the northwestern coast across from the Florida Straits. It abuts Havana province in the south, west and east, while the Atlantic Ocean is its northern boundary. This is Cuba’s smallest province yet the one with the largest population, comprising almost one-fifth of the whole number of inhabitants. Surface: 727 km2. Population: (1989), 2.077.938 inhabitants.
