Santa Rosa de Copan

Santa Rosa de Cpan is the major municipality of the Copan Department in the middle of surrounding hills. The total population amounts to 39,460 inhabitants (year 2000).
This is Honduras’ largest and most important western city and serves as the administrative headquarters for the departments of Copan, Ocotepeque and Lempira.
On December 19, 1823, it was titled as a National Village of Santa Rosa. On April 12, 1843, during the government led by Francisco Ferrera, the town was bestowed the title of city under the name of Santa Rosa de Copan.
Santa Rosa is indeed a bludgeoning city outfitted with service infrastructure, highly visited by businessmen and heads of state.
The city celebrates its saint patron parties from August 15 through 30 in honor to Santa Rosa de Lima.
