Utila

The smallest of the three Bay Islands, featuring a rocky and jungle-like coastline, let alone those areas marked by breathtaking strips of powder-thin sand. Utila is located at a meager 30-kilometer span off Honduras’ Atlantic shore, almost exactly north of La Ceiba.
Access to the island is a cakewalk from the port city of La Ceiba. The total population is just 2,166 inhabitants (year 2000). Its saint patron, the Virgin of the Way, is observed on August 15 every single year.
