This State is located in the Western part of the Yucatan Peninsula. Its limits are: to the North, the State of Yucatan, to the East the State of Quintana Roo, to the South Guatemala, to the Southwest, Tabasco and to the West the Golf of Mexico. It occupies the eighteenth place in the country’s surface. Fishing and oil extraction are its main economical activity. We can also mention the agricultural activity from which the rice, corn, sugar cane, are outstanding so as the mango, orange, coconut, papaya, banana, saramullo, sapota-tree, lemon, and nance fruit. It has important archeological zones.
