Miami

Miami is a city located in the state of Florida. Grand Miami is made up of approximately 25 municipalities. It’s a maritime port and one of the state’s major cities. Since 1980, its economy has branched out after the metropolitan area took on a more active role in the development of the U.S. city network. Other major economic activities are such crops as citrus fruits and vegetables, building, fishing, transportation, electric equipment and appliances, biomedical products, clothing and printing materials. The word Miami means big water in an old Illinois dialect, probably in reference to the Okeechobee Lake. Its population reaches over 360,000 inhabitants.
